Inside the course

Develop the preparation.
Build the structure.

Day 1 combines e-file theory, demonstrations and self-practice. Day 2 brings Russian manicure and hard gel structure together on a live model you arrange, with personal feedback throughout.

  1. Day 1

    E-file theory & safety

Understand handpiece grip, working position, direction, RPM and pressure. Learn to avoid heat, discomfort and overworking the nail or surrounding skin.

  2. Day 1

    E-file bits & working speeds

Select suitable bit shapes, materials and grits. Review tool cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation, and adapt speed and movement to the area you are working with.

  3. Day 1

    Nail & skin assessment

Assess the nail plate, cuticle, proximal fold and sidewalls. Recognise skin types, choose a suitable approach and identify when preparation should be adapted.

  4. Day 1

    Cuticle pocket preparation

Use e-file bits and manual tools in a combined method to open the cuticle pocket and prepare the surrounding skin safely, efficiently and precisely.

  5. Day 1

    Scissor work & skin polishing

Refine scissor positioning, blade control and cuticle trimming, then polish the skin for a clean finish. Practise on your own hand with live feedback.

  6. Day 2

    Consultation & nail assessment

Assess the natural nail condition, growth direction, length, shape and cuticle type. Tailor preparation, hard gel selection and structure to the nails you are working with.

  7. Day 2

    Safe product removal

Remove existing product with controlled e-file movements, suitable bits, RPM and pressure, protecting the natural nail underneath.

  8. Day 2

    Nail preparation & adhesion

Refine the nail shape and combine mechanical preparation with suitable prep liquids and base products for the nail type and selected system.

  9. Day 2

    Complete Russian manicure

Bring the preparation sequence together on your model. Refine e-file angles, hand positioning, cuticle work and skin finishing with continuous guidance.

  10. Day 2

    Hard gel selection & structure

Choose suitable hard gel consistency and rigidity. Refine product placement, apex, stress areas and sidewalls to build strength with a thin, balanced appearance. Practise controlled gel application for minimal refining after curing.

  11. Day 2

    Structural correction

Use controlled gel placement to visually correct downward-growing nails, uneven nail plates and asymmetrical structure while maintaining a natural, balanced result.

  12. Day 2

    Repairing sidewalls & broken corners

Learn to rebuild missing or overfiled sidewalls and broken corners. Choose suitable gel types and consistencies for the size of the repair and the support needed, then refine placement and reinforcement to restore a balanced, durable nail shape.

  13. Day 2

    Precision filing & refinement

Follow a controlled filing sequence to refine the apex, surface, sidewall symmetry and lower arches. Refine filing angles and finish the free edge to preserve its strength, support durability and help prevent chipping, while creating a thin, balanced result.

  14. Day 2

Top coat & line of light alignment

Apply top coat with controlled product distribution and brush movements to create a smooth, even finish with a clean, aligned line of light.

  15. Day 2

    Feedback & improvements

I’ll review your work from the day, highlight where you can improve and guide you on how to tackle the issues you experienced. You’ll leave with clear, practical steps to focus on as you continue practising after the course.

  16. Day 2

    Photography basics

Explore phone settings, lighting and hand positioning to photograph the detail of your finished work clearly.
